ST! 2006 will rock! Here are the notes from the first ST! meeting for 2006 which took place 1/15/06. First be aware that we agreed to meet every two weeks on Sundays from 1:30-4:30. The next meeting is Sunday Jan 29th and will be at Angel's house. The first half of the meeting was spent brainstorming various issues that need to be addressed: ~ Community building especially in regards to having more people really help and follow through in their committments ~ Community building in the sense of having good communication off and especially on playa. Being together as an intentional, heart-conscious community. Having process times on the playa - every dinner time? A few times during the week? - where folks could come to vent or process if they need to. ~ Organization around leadership - especially helping people who do A LOT of work for ST! avoid burn out and get real, dependable sustainable help. Also respecting people in said leadership roles. ~ Brainstorming creative ideas for the playa ~Fundraising ~Organization around chores on playa and particularly having set up and clean up be better organized in terms of what is expected of whom. Prioritizing and assigning tasks. ~ gifts for the playa ~possibly contacting other camps to camp adjacent to, i.e. Poly paradise, some camp from Hawaii. The idea of a 'village' was thought to be too ambotious for this year. ~Adding other aspects to ST! such as pujas, sensually/sexually oreinted events, burlesque show, lap dances. ~Sexual/sensual play space at ST!?? Back from road. For ST! members and by invitation only - not open to all of playa. ~ No sex in snuggledome - ever! ~ ST! is by express intention a safe community space ~ INfrastructure issues: *Check on power system and have back up system *Grey water system w/ swamp cooler - get back up sump pump *Carports - need 3 more? (two for possible play space, one to replace sucky one from last year) *Snugglebus: ST! Still owes $ to Bob for bus the bus is FULL - no more stuff can fit on it do we need another vehicle? Maintenence - the bus everheats currently Biodiesel converstion? We currently pay for insurance and storage of bus ~ST! Sign should be lighted. General aesthetic concerns about ST! overall. ~ Budget concerns - we currently have no money (yes Tzara?). Camp fees. OK! We made these DECISIONS!!: *we will not attempt to put up structures on playa if the wind is too strong! * Keep ST! membership at 40-50 people. Have very clear screening process for new members. We are considering limiting the number of people we DO NOT KNOW who have never been to BM. Application for ST! member ship and payment is 8/1. We will (who?) send an email soon to greater LT to invite them to ST!. ***** A 'leadership/oversight/coordination' (name to be determined) committee was formed to oversee the overall organization of ST! and to help spread out some of the large overarching tasks of making ST! happen. This group will honor and enact the community vision. We will respect and honor the leadership committee. We gave this leadership group express permission to lead us - wisely and compassionately - and agree to defer to their judgement on last minute decisions. They will facilitate meetings. Members of this committee can serve on only one other ST! committee, and will not be the lead person on any other commitee. The people who volunteered and who we agreed would be on this committee are: Bob, Angel, Robyn, Ralph, Tzara. This committe will meet before the next ST! meeting and decide what other committees are required for ST! '06, and make a list of tasks that need to be accomplished. They will report at next meeting. ** Fundraising committee was formed: Lisa, Tzara, George, Stephen.
