Concepts and thoughts: - What do we want to get accomplished with these gifts? - How do we want to include camp address on/with gifts? o Necklaces, etc., with address on separate paper, glued to string? - How much should we try to minimize any environmental impact from our gifts? - How many gifts should we make? Consensus seems to be 500. - How much do we want to spend on gifts alone? Bus: Marcia, Glen and Jerry trekked out to Boring to check out a selection of used buses (many thanks and appreciations). Two of them were diesels with seats, both at around $1500 - International Superior o Cat-diesel engine o Roof-rack, needs work o Better milage than the other o Testing need to be done for smoking, speed, performance, etc& - Bluebird o Younger, in good shape o & There was some discussion of the option to convert a bus to bio-diesel as well as talk of hauling bio-diesel fuel with us (vegetable oil?). Costs for conversion as well as the price for bio-diesel fuel were not discussed. The idea of painting the bus was briefly mentioned, though acquisition of the bus seems to be the immediate priority. In following, possibly there should be a dedicated fundraising project just for the bus& Summarized advantages to having a bus include reusable transportation for BM for several years, possibly cheaper than truck rental, and LoveTribe and FnL could use bus during the year for supply storage/transportation and possible traveling Snuggles. The person selling the buses noted that more should be coming into the lot in about 4 weeks. Recruiting: ** Increased recruiting needs to happen soon. Brian offered to post to some other e-mail lists. Bob had two people contact him about joining the building committee. No one else reported having outside contact in regards to joining their committee. Additional ideas about how to advertise and get the word out are more than welcome. Committee Reporting: Food/Kitchen (Aaron): Current sentiments and planning are that dinners should be communal and that lunches and breakfast will be DIY. Camp will provide all the food for breakfasts and lunches, but what you do with it and when is your own bag. Someone mentioned finding a book entitled Cooking for Fifty. Brian offered to provide some of the fresh produce for the kitchen. There was an estimate made of $300 to $500 needed for food. Structures & Design (Bob in absentia, as reported by Ellie?): Taija has a domes Fundraising (Arthur): New fundraising ideas presented: - Sams upcoming garage sale - Traveling Snuggle in the bus? - Communicating with regional, national, etc., snuggle communities for fundraising support& Snuggle Solidarity for BM04? Donations: - Remember that Tzara opened two PayPal accounts through which people can make online donations: bus@snuggletown.org and donate@snuggletown.org. - Donation gifts? o Genia suggested T-shirt sales/gifts for donations to occur at Snuggle events, and the like. $4000 to $5000 has been estimated for total needs, with many specific costs un-estimated for. $100 is the currently requested contribution level for planners and organizers. Non-planners are being asked for $150 and possibly $200 for last-minute joiners. There is the possibility of more money coming in from the upcoming Rapture event. Misc: Glen mentioned that he now has 2 couches. Timeline: 66 days til the playa (August 30th)! Next Meeting: Tuesday, June 29th @ 6:45pm @ Aarons house
