Minutes of the Snuggletown! 4/13 meeting: An agenda was set: California update Transportation Community Size Theme camp criteria Theme camp requirements Community structure Domes Vision Sex (only b/c Aaron wanted to be able to talk about sex and Ellie said "if its not on the agenda, we dont get to talk about it) Food California Update: folks are not motivated down in SF. Aaron is camping with us, not them and has told them as much. we are setting up what we want to do for a camp. they might camp with us. they have a mission statement and community minded plans. Theme Camp requirements per the BM web site, all theme camps will be: visually stimulating (bob wants boobs), interactive, participatory. Deadline for submission of map and clean up plan as well as theme and planned events is July 1st. We decided that criteria was the same as requirements and to remove that from the agenda. Vision name is Snuggletown! we decided the ! is very important. each person went around and discussed what their particular vision of Snuggletown! was and we decided not to judge or try to come up with any concensus but to listen and let the ideas sit in the universe and mull around in our brains until our next meeting. Bob: create comfy 24 hour snuggle event; rules posted; 2 large domes for snuggle and FnL party space and 1 small "baby" dome for a guided meditation tape; classes including a dance movement therapy; sex ok normally in the space; a restaurant event one afternoon/evening with candles and tablecloths (Tzara suggested naming it Chez Snug-le') (thing french) and only serving spagetti but with wine and table service etc. Aaron: cohesive community space; healing focused activities; insert the SF mission statement here; safe space and protected Beau: focus on play ie having fun Gyro (sorry if i am spelling this wrong): connection; make it nice for new people Charrise (channeled thru Ellie): FnL party one night; one thing one night and no other commitments to participants; wants to make sure there is enough BM play time Ellie: one FnL party early in the week; snuggle space the rest of the time with no sex; classes ok but not a requirement to participate; not tied down Tzara: lights/hook up to the grid; illuminated domes; music; not a lot of commitments; ok with classes but doesnt want to give Sam: Community thing; not too many hours of work; as fluid as possible for participants; compromise and not too rigid Glen: Passports; oracle; piano on subwoofer Eddy (sorry if i am spelling this wrong): one event and lots of free time; she wants to be a worker bee, not a planner bee; party and snuggle zone Brian: 2 domes - one for sex and the other nonsex; tunnel and lead in with the rules Community Size We agreed that it was important to know an approx number beforehand so we could get an optimal space from BRC folks. 50 "sleepers" max. Sleepers defined as folks who are actually camping with us, not just "drop ins". each person would have a requirement of work shifts. we will tell BRC a number double what we are actually having so we get some good space. Domes rules posted. air flow. shade vs full bottom. we talked about the difference between a place you want to hang out during the day and a place that is warm at night. you have dust issues with an open bottom but it will be too stuffy and hot to hang out in during the day. that orange construction fencing was mentioned. want folks to come into our "living room" and our "dining room" but the "bedrooms" are by invite only. Bob designed a "courtyard" of sorts. where the living room consists of the 3 domes (big papa, smaller mama and little baby dome). with a square kitchen structure off to one side and all our personal tents skirting the outside. thing concentrix circles. big dome should be 25 - 30 feet in diameter. smaller dome can be the 15 ft dome Bob and Sam already own and then the "baby" dome is more of a 3 - 4 person tent. We tabled the discussions of transportation, food and community structure til our next meeting. Next meeting scheduled for Thursday April 29th at 7pm at Bob and Sam's house. We decided that since we only have 4 1/2 months til the playa and 2 months til requirements are submitted to BRC we need to meet every other week. Thursday's seemed to be the best for folks.
